Uncork your Wild Side with the Bride

This past weekend was a busy, crazy, fun one! I got to spend some girl time in Austin helping celebrate one of my best friend's last night on the town as a Brown. Good food, great drinks, and an awesome time was had! :)

If you've never been to Fall Creek Vineyards in Driftwood, then you're really missing out. Beautiful property and great wine!

Only 12 more days to go until she's a married woman!

Have the best week!

Gift Ideas for Father's Day

Father's Day is next weekend! I'm not sure about the fathers in your life, but the fathers in my life are ridiculously hard to shop for. They either already have everything under the sun or give the, "oh, don't get me anything" response... So! I thought I'd help my fellow reader's with hard-to-gift-fathers.

I'm a sucker for crafty gifts, especially for holiday's like these. But since our little one isn't quiet old enough to make anything himself, we'll just pretend he hand-picked this year's gift. :)

Some great, yet affordable gift ideas for Dad would be new grilling tools and apron - you could even personalize the apron with the kiddo's hand prints. The hubs loves to golf, as do many Dads, so golf gear is also a great gift idea. I recently stumbled across Man Crates, which is perfect for the Dad that isn't into the traditional gifts. Man Crates offers a huge variety of different themed crate gift boxes - ranging from hot sauce to sports - to fit your Dad's personality. We love supporting local breweries, so gifting an assorted six-pack of Dad's favorite local beers (ours just happens to be Saint Arnold's) is a great, delicious idea. What Dad doesn't love a good pair of sunglasses? If you know their style, then picking up a pair of sunglasses is something they will love (and look good in, too).

This Father's Day will be the hub's very first official Father's Day, so I want to make it as special as possible for him because he totally deserves it. So, we'll most likely start off the day by grabbing brunch at one of his favorite spots, then do something outdoors, like TopGolf (one of his favorite things to do is golf) or go to the pool. I'm really looking forward to this Father's Day, and just showing Brandon how much he's loved.

What are some gifts you're thinking of giving Dad this year?

Beach Babe

We did it. We loaded up the truck and took our first of many family trips to the beach! It was baby B's first long car ride, which he slept the entire time both ways, and his first time experiencing his toes in the sand and bum in the ocean. It was a super hot and sunny day, so this mamma loaded down her beach babe with tons of sunscreen and lots of shade. Despite the heat, he tolerated it pretty well. We would dip him in the water to cool him down, then let him roll around and play under the shade with his cousins. We spent a few hours on the beach, then packed it up and headed to the resort for some sweet air conditioning and a champagne toast to my parents for their anniversary. After that we grabbed a bite to eat and hit the road back home.

It was a quick day trip, but we all had the best time hanging out with my parents and my sister and her adorable family. Family Trip No. 1 was a total success! Now, where to next...?

Summer Bucket List

The first day of summer (June 21) will be here before we know it! So, I thought it would be fun to share my summer bucket list. Here goes:
  1. Go on a family picnic in the park complete with homemade sandwiches (because those are the best), lemonade, and baby in a wagon.
  2. Make homemade fruit and yogurt popsicles. I could totally go for one of these right about now!
  3. Lots of trips to the pool and/or beach.
  4. Pick-up a bike trailer so we can get our bike-ride on.
  5. Go to the Craft Beer & Music Festival.
  6. Make homemade pizza on the grill.
  7. Have or attend a July 4th BBQ with friends.
  8. Wear more dresses & rompers. If you know me, then you know I'm not a dress or shorts kind-of-gal, but I'm trying to be... I really am. Might even give these a try!
  9. Eat dinner (maybe some fish tacos) on the porch under the lit-up pergola.
  10. Sip on a grilled pineapple margarita beach-side.
And because a post is no fun without a picture, here's my little rock star who's full of smiles and ready for some summer sunshine!

What is on your summer bucket list?

We've Got Sunshine

I had an eventful weekend. June is a pretty busy month for us; we have something going on every weekend! I spent majority of the day Saturday and Sunday morning shopping and prepping goodies for an upcoming bachelorette party -- I can't remember the last time I've crafted this much! The hubs and I even got out for a little dinner date on Saturday night, thanks to Gigi and Pop for coming by to watch little man.

We finally got some much needed sunshine yesterday! So of course this meant we needed to take our first trip of the summer to the pool. After weeks of endless rain, it felt so great to feel the sun shining on our cheeks!

Baby B fell asleep on the walk up to the pool - being a baby is hard work - but once he woke up and had his first swim, he was all smiles! He really enjoyed just looking at the water and watching the big kids play around. We were at the pool for about an hour, most of which the little fishy slept, but he was totally worn out for the rest of the day. Now he's all ready for the trip to Galveston this weekend! :)

I hope everyone got to enjoy some sunshine this weekend, even if it was just for a little bit. Have the best week!
